Austin and I are thinking of getting our undercarriages media blasted by @offcamberfj. He said he can do 4-5 in a day. If we can get 2 other trucks I'll host a day where we can get together at my place and get the work done all at the same time. I figure we can save some time (and hopefully money) by setting up the blast station once and just rolling each rig on one at a time. I'm thinking to get this on the schedule in the next month or so before it started to get too hot and humid. Any interest?

Great idea. I probably have some large parts that need blasting.
Ooh, spot blast my hood and my spare windshield frame!
Count me in.

I was just about to ask you if you tried it. Do you have any idea on pricing? My undercarriage is probably similar to Austin's. What's your plan for the recoating?

I've never had wet glass blasting, but from what I know of it, it is effective and has the advantage of keeping the blasted parts cooler than regular media and reduces the chances of warping sheet metal.

What's up guys. As far as pricing goes, I get $200 for frames. Of course I can't get everything under the truck but I can get most of it. Club price for that will $150 each. Stump, I can spot blast or whatever you need. Saturday's or Sunday's work for me, just give me about a week or so notice. Any other questions just yell.

Eric

What is the clean up like? I assume I don't need to worry about shards of tiny broken glass on my driveway/yard? (I fully understand I'll get flamed if this if it's a stupid question:flipoff2:)

It will be minimum. If we do it in the grass it will be gone after a rain or two. It looks just like sand, so no glass shards for people or pets to worry about.

April 11th works best for me. I've got something going on on the 25th.

I'd like to be first or second in line if ok with you fellas... 9am sound good, or earlier?

I'll scrape off as much rust/oil as I can to eliminate messing up Patrick's yard.

I've confirmed the 11th with my significantly better half. All I need is a start time. I may have to bug out for a bit to watch my boy walk in the Fairfax Little League parade but it shouldn't disrupt our plans.

@edust1 - I'll let @offcamberfj say what if anything you could bring. We have a few option of where to setup so we'll figure out which will have the least impact.

If anyone wants to just come by and hang out that day feel free to swing by. There will be plenty of beer and maybe we can grill up some food too.

@offcamberfj : What is a convenient start time for you considering the address in in Burke?

I can be there any time ya'll want to get started. The earlier the better for me. I'm up at 5 every day. You tell me a time and I'll be there.

So how does the media affect rubber boots and hoses and the like? Do we need to cover them up so they aren't damaged?
