Just wondering if anybody uses XM Navtraffic? Or perhaps have used in the past.

Reason for asking is that there are times where you are going somewhere quick and do not feel like setting up your phone every time for traffic. Was thinking it might be nice to utilize a built-in feature to head unit for those times that can give you up to date traffic info. I realize it is a $4 subscription. So hopefully someone here might have some insight based on their experience.

Can only speak for my ‘19 but it doesn’t use XM for traffic data. It uses HD radio. Basically one of the stations in your local market transmits local traffic data on a sub channel and the head unit picks it up. It works great in So Cal. Use it all the time. However once I crest the high desert or the grapevine it’s crapshoot if any smaller stations are transmitting.
