Hey Rudy -

Glad to hear that you got my old springs and I'm glad that we can keep them in the "family." I'm sorry to say that I'm booked the next two weekends, so I'm not available to help then. But if it goes into July, keep us posted and I'd be willing to give a hand.

I do not have the tool to press out the bushings. When I got my 80, the springs and bushings were already on the truck.

Good luck and keep us posted on the progress. It's neat to see a truck go from stock to built - one step at a time.

It is not a big deal for me to buy something I need. If anyone in group can use it it is available.

Rudy,
I cannot find the bushing press tool. As Onur said, you can make one or buy one from Christo. Dan probably has one but he is out of town.

Thanks for looking Mike,

But grasshopper already talked with Christo and ordered one. He said it should be shipped today. Just an update: I will let you guys offering help know what the plans are cuz my brother that got me into cruisers is interested a 80 in Cali. he is offering a flight out there for me and drive back through Vegas. He still needs get a bit more info. And of course if the tool comes in and if he gets the info and flight tickets

Keep yuu guys posted

Rudy

I guess it is a no on the trip.

My brother decided to wait on the 80. As long as I can get the bushing press tool before (if you guys are still up for helping) Sunday may be an option. It is not a big deal if not, I am not in a rush.

Dan, might take you up on that offer to use your shop, seeing that I pissed off our mechanic today. Glad I get to drive my work truck home. I would hate to have some sort of brake problem tomorrow while driving around.

I guess wrenching is delayed

Looks like sometime in July, checked UPS tracking and it is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Of course next weekend is the Montecillo overnight trip, I have plans for the lake. Overall TBC...

Thanks

That would be unfortunate indeed.

Just holler. In July I'll be in and out, and I'm hoping to be able to do Monticello Canyon, but the offer certainly stands. I still don't seem to exist to my company. It's the American dream!

Me too! Just depends on incompotent people that I did not invite to the lake.

Q's: who do you work for and how much to they pay? Only reason I ask is the irony of my job and a joke I got sent to me today. I hope no one takes it personally here, cuz as far has I know we all work for what we have. We had one guy that worked for us for one hour and lived on workers comp for six months before we were told about it. Another cut a finger and he has been out for a month and a half.

Subject: voted best joke of 2008 (so far)

A Russian arrives in New York City as a new immigrant to the United States . He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says,
'Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country , giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and free education!'
The passerby says, 'You are mistaken, I am Mexican.'
The man goes on and encounters another passerby. ' Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America !'
The person says, 'I not American, I Vietnamese.'
The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says, 'Thank you for the wonderful America!'
That person puts up his hand and says, 'I am from Middle East , I am not American!'
He finally sees a nice lady and asks, 'Are you an American?'
She says , 'No, I am from Africa !'
Puzzled, he asks her, 'Where are all the Americans?'
The African lady checks her watch and says...'Probably at work!'

Could still use some help.

Is anyone still available for help? I got the CC bushing tool from Christo.

Rudy:

I'm around until Sunday morning if you need a hand.

If we wanted to use our shop we can certainly try, but I have no idea if we could do the swap in a full day or not.

Dan

Easily done in one day. No problem. Unfortuntely, I am working during Saturday and then installing an AC compressor into an early 80 series Saturday night.

If you need any help, there are plenty of 80's people right in Dan's neck of the woods who can give advice or supervise as needed.

Thanks Dan, We probably could swap it in the day. I read Christo's instructions and it does not look too bad. I think it would go smoother with someone who has done it before helping. Besides, I think I should rest this weekend. I was feeling pretty bad last night so I went last night to hospital (I hardly ever do that). It would be nice to install it. Feeling better today but better keep rested until I know I'm 100%.
Thanks for offering though.
