Well,

I have Evan's old springs from Larry along with the CC bushings and Landtank's template. (Am I missing anything else?). Only want to do a simple lift but want to make sure it is done right.

Start soaking the lower shock bolts in PB Blaster. Squirt them every day for a week before you start the project. You will need a big press to get the CC bushings installed. Do you have the bushing press tool from Slee?

If you are not replacing shocks then you won't need to remove the top shock bolts. If you are replacing the front shocks then I have an impact socket that will make the job easier.

Read the install instructions on Christo's web site, plus the 80-Series FAQ here on 'Mud. I found it easiest to do 1 corner at a time.

No problem. The stuff is awesome!

Rudy: I'd be up for helping seeing as how I'm just sitting around the house hoping that my employer continues to forget that I exist. Sooner rather than later is probably better for me, but I'm available anytime until they call and tell me I have to work (which will be a couple days notice either way).

You're even welcome to bring it up here to use our shop if you want to work in slightly cooler temperatures.

I'm in. I can help with the press for the CC bushings...

Time frame Rudy?

-o-

I don't have a particular time frame in mind. Pretty much any weekend anyone is available (work takes most of the work week). If I could only find my work keys there is a press and lift at the shop. I am not going to change the shocks yet, maybe sometime in the future.

Thanks,

Rudy

I am free after 2pm this coming Saturday or Sunday.

You will need at least a 15-20 ton press for the bushings, especially if they are stock. They tend to get rusted in there and are difficult to pop out. Do you have a jig/tool to pop the bushings out with? If not, you will need one (Slee has them or you can make one with some DOM cut to size).

Damn! you guys are demanding. Actually, I really appreciate the help. I am pretty sure it is a 20 ton press. Can't say I have that tool (it is stock). I can call Slee in the morning and see if I can get it by the weekend. It would be nice to get it done this weekend, have plans for the Butte the next weekend. If not no biggie. I can check the shop in the morning for the DOM.

I had the bushing press tool at one point in time. I cannot remember if I loaned or gave them to Graham or someone else in the club. They might still be in the garage somewhere. I'll look tomorrow.

Anyone else with one that Rudy can borrow?

Was just looking at Slee's website, saw them on their install instructions, but could not find them for sale on the web. About how much do they run?

Free with a set of their caster bushings. Someone has mine if they are not in the garage. They will turn up.

Just noticed that. The only thing is that I have bushings. Not an expert but they look good to me. If I have to buy another set then so be it. I'll call them tomorrow and see if they have it separately.

Thanks Mike

At least give me a chance to look for mine. It is not easy finding stuff in my garage but I know where the tool should be if I still have it.

Patience grasshopper.

what kind of time frame? I should be available...

Sorry, I don't mean to disregard anyone else who is willing to help. Said before, any help is appreciated. Just let me know what poision is your choice and I will buy (and the food too).

Dan, you are up north right? We have a well equipped shop but I hate to use it sometimes.

Thanks guys

I noticed you have said this quite a few times. Am I wrong to say that you watched David Carradine in his Kung Fu show? I know I am young, but not that young to have never seen that. I am sure I will be busy for a while in the morning getting my guys going (I suspended six employees without pay for the week this morning and quite hectic). I just don't want to put you in more of a bind to rush on something I overlooked. It is not a big deal for me to buy something I need. If anyone in group can use it it is available.

We're in the east mountains, maybe 15 minutes north of Evan's. It's 30 minutes from the Big I. We've got a fairly well equipped shop (including 20 ton press) with lots of room. Like I said: you're more than welcome to it. It's no biggie BTW if something happens and it has to sit overnight or so. Worst that happens is that a Dodge would spend a night outside (gasp!).

Either way, I should be able to come lend a hand or tools if it's in town too. No skin off my back. I can't imagine that my company will have something for me to do this weekend, so it *should* be safe. So far, they've forgotten I exist for 3 business days an counting. :) It's great when one of the most incompetent employees in the company is tasked with scheduling you sometimes. :flipoff2:

Even if I'm forced to work, I think Dad will be home this weekend, so the shop could be opened.

Dan,

My number one question is do you get paid even when they forget to give you work or do they forget to do that too?

I'm making minimum guarantee this month, so yes. I'm paid the same whether I work or not. Obviously I choose not. ;)

Next month I've got a lot of time off, but that's because I took the company's time off without pay offer to help them avoid furloughs. If I do this right, I'll only work 4 days in July (well, at least for them)--although the paycheck will SUCK.

I figure I'll give them a call tomorrow afternoon if I haven't heard anything, because that's what a good employee does. :grinpimp:
