preferably in Baton Rouge, but I am willing to travel - the local Miata dealer claimed they can only convert it to R134 for muchp $$$$ :(

yup but I b in Lafayette.

road trip in the roadster

does it have issue or just a slow leak?
how long since it worked?

it's still providing cooling but is slowly getting weaker, gurgling sound after switch-off

the last freon refill was in Omaha in 2007, just before we moved down here - and that was only the second refill, the first was ~1997 or so in Phoenix - car is a 1990 Miata

sounds like all ya need it to top off the freon then

that sounds good - when can I come over ?

still trying to locate some r12 with out buying a large quantity.

have been able to buy r12 but have to buy a large quantity not a $ viable condition for you imo my be better to convert town alternate gas let me know

thanks for the effort - just out of curiosity: what quantities and $$$ are we talking about here ?

alternatives :hmm:

min order is over $500 +frt

I use a n inert gas it will freeze ya out but if ya go a long distance it fill freeze the evaporator as well. great for short runs not ld.
much easier on the compressor as well.

do you have any experience with Envirosafe ?

yup

 good experience ?

like I said it works great except on long distance runs but all ya need to do is turn off the compressor for a few minutes you still get cold air then when it warms up a bit turn the compressor back on.
