I should have posted this a long time ago. I'm looking for somebody that I can tag along with who has a boat around the CLT area. I'm happy to chip in for fuel, food, etc. I don't really care what we fish for - I've fished all my life and can handle everything except fly fishing (for now). Catch and release is fine. I'm well equipped, I just don't have a boat anymore. Light tackle rules for me. I'm most flexible during the week but weekends can be done at times, and I'm willing to travel with enough warning. Plus, I'm all over NC/SC depending on the season.

Kayaks, canoes, jon boats, bass boats, pontoons, whatever. Bream, trout, bass, catfish, etc.

Hell, if anybody even just wants company on a shore fishing trip just let me know.

I know we've got a lot of saltwater guys here so I'm hoping there's freshwater folks, too.

PM me for contact info.

You really think a shark is going to eat you ;)

Does it need to be a boat? There are plenty if places to fish around where you don't need a boat.

Can't help you in CLT, but if you are up my way we can hit Jordan lake up anytime. I keep my boat about 10mins from the lake, but it's a deep v, so I can't really get in the skinny water. I used to have a 17ft Al jon boat for duck hunting that was great for fresh water. I could get in 6in of water - now, not so much. But trying to do a little salt water stuff, water sports, and just pleasure boating, the center console made the most sense. I digress...

There's some decent stripers in Jordan lake if you like trolling, but that bite's off through now and about Sept-Oct. We could definitely get a few Crappie, Large Mouth, perch, etc.

No, that's statistically improbable. I think one will eat the boat.

The shore is fine but I've got bad luck finding places that aren't known to everybody else, too, or aren't on private property. Not that I've hunted around too much. Somebody clue me in.

Good to know. Never been to Jordan but pass it quite often. White or Yellow perch? I used to love bringing home yellow perch for the grill back in VA. Burke Lake had some nice ones.

I'm having trouble deciphering the middle part of that :flipoff2:

Oh and 1975 is when Jaws came out in the theater.

I think it's a misspelling of the NC dialect's murderous version of:

"I wasn't alive", to NC translation "I won't alive", to the Meatball version of "I want alive".

LOL

I dont live in the CLT area but have a family lake house in lake wylie with a 17ft cc fishing boat. Caught a 9lb bass last time out. Might be going up there a few times this summer and when Im in the area, ill let you know

Also, when you do get into fly fishing or want to learn, let me know and Ill take you on the new or watauga in banner elk/blowing rock. I used to help guide up there and know where to catch some decent sized trout.

Hey John, I fish fresh water quite a bit but haven't found any good fishing holes in charlotte yet and i dont have a boat. Let me know when you want to ever fish from the bank.

Tight lines

Hey John Vee, look what one of Logan's friend pulled out of Tillery or Badin today. He won't tell where he was though. :(
