Been meaning to post this up for a while.... when I picked up my latest LV, the '63 from WY, it had a nice suprise in the glove box. Located on the back of the door was an original dealer installed sticker I hadn't run across before

thought it was pretty cool and was suprised it had survived 50 years in relatively good shape. I thought if there was any interest for those doing restorations or anybody that thinks it is cool we could maybe persuade Shane to make some repo.s for us

I know I would be interested. What year is the LV? I thought Toyota imported the Toyopet in 58 with the FJ25 shortly after that. Then in the early 60s Toyota stopped importing the Toyopet because a very poor sales and continued inporting LCs. Then later started with the Crown minus the Toyopet name. Or maybe the LV was the Toyopet. At least the tailgate handle was Toyopet correct?

John it is a early '63 and it is the oldest known one here on Mud.... also the LV tailgate handle does say Toyopet once you remove the chrome cover.

You are correct that import of the Toyopet stopped in December 1960, but I assume the dealer who installed this referenced the Toyopet for the ones that had been imported and thus would still need OEM part  but who really knows

Or maybe it was because Toyota still had a few imported Toyopets they haven't been able to unload by the time this LV was sold.:meh: I do like the fact back then as a customer you could deal directly with their warehouses here in the US.

I knew about the Toyopet under the cover on the handle. A few parts on the FJ25s were the same as the Toyopet. Only problem is more FJ25 survived then Toyopets. So there aren't any around for us 25 guys to find parts off of.
