I've spent a good deal of time deciding what wheels to run on my FJ62. The size will be 255/85, but as we know 16x7's that fit our 6 lug (without spacers) are a rare breed. I ordered some wheels from Stockton today, and I thought I had everything right. However, something the extremely helful guy mentioned is bothering me. When building 3.5" backspace on the "Milner" wheel, they have to do them "reverse". I don't know that I fully understand, nor can I picture the difference, but my biggest concern is caliper and tie rod end clearance. Any idea if the reversal would have any affect on those clearances?? If so, it would completely defeat the purpose of custom wheels.

The google search comes up with this picture when searching for the Milner's, any idea if they are standard or reverse? I'm not a wheel afficianado, given the popularity of this style wheel in the better days, im hoping an old cruiser head can help me out here, Thanks!

Contact Georg @ Valley Hybrid and see if he can help. He is in Stockton too and may be able to work with the guys.

dn't put two and two together that they were co-located. If I were personal friends I'd give him a call, but I don't like asking for favors when he wouldnt be selling me anything:). Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone else have any idea?

I actually just got off the phone with stockton again ad they are confident that everything will fit with no issues. Whenever I get these things in the mail I'll update the thread with some pictures

Stockton wheel

I ordered the series 20, 16x8 for my FJ62. Stockton gave me the option to pay a little more, ($185.00 total per wheel) for custom "Outters". This way they do not have to reverse the wheel to get between 3.5" and 3.75" BS. It has been about 3 weeks since i placed the order, about what was estimated to produce the custom outters. It is my understanding that they had to order many to get the manufacturer to produce them. It has been posted that 3.5" to 3.75" BS works on a stock 62 with 7" rims.

Thanks for the post man. They didn't mention the custom outter option. I'm into the Milners for more than that with no extra's, I should have my head examined... Do you have any idea what the reserved wheel would look like? The fitment should be good, but now im worried i'll have ridiculously expensive ugly wheels. I've googled it for hours, the order is in progress now so I may just have to cross my fingers. Be sure to post a picture of yours when you get them!

Reversed Stckton

They sent me a picture of the back of a series 20, and said this is what it will look like. There was still the possibility of 3.75" of BS not fitting because the angle of the center section. I need to make contact to see if the custom outters have come in. How does the "Milner" differ from the series 20?

Dirk, PM sent, thanks for the help. The Milner is almost the exact same as 20 series but it has 4 "slots" in it. I think it looks really similar to the old factory steelies. Ironically, it also looks IDENTICAL to the old GM wheels that came on everything from airstream trailers, to police sign trailers, to GM vans and pickups, which can be had in the states for junk yard prices...

Are you going to have the clips welded on for the factory hubcaps? Is there a particular person @ Stockton Wheel that knows Landcruisers specifically. I'm thinking of factory style, with clips for hubcaps, except in a 17"x10". I look forward to pics of the final product.

Dirk, any word on yours? The centers were bored out on mine today, ship in the AM. I think they look pretty good in the raw, a little unique but I have to do something to set my cruiser apart.

They weren't exactly plug and play like I expected, but they're on.

I went with km2's. 255/85. I'm very pleased with their road manners so far. I'll try to post some pictures and a description of my issues if my phone will let me. If not ill do it this weekend when I get home. Long story short, had to grind wheels and calipers, and a 1/4" spacer in the rear.

If I were to reorder I would specify the grinding of the "fins". Also, I wouldn't do reversed for the clearance. However, I am happy with them overall and think they look pretty sexy in person.

Are you going to have the segments welded on for the manufacturer hubcaps? Is there a particular individual @ Stockton california rim that knows Land cruisers particularly. I'm considering manufacturer design, with segments for hubcaps excpet for the 16*17' . .

No, I don't have interest in hub caps. I wanted a "bare bones" look. I dealt with Eric, but he didn't seem overly knowledgeable about cruisers. If I were you, I would call Georg at Valley Hybrids. Unless I'm mistaken, he's there in Stockton and could probably help you out. Tell him you want a set of 16" split Toyota wheels turned into a 16x7 solid wheel. Stockton will put the centers into their wheel and voila, just what you wanted.(I think, its what I would have done in the first place if I knew.)
