Hey, anyone out there have access to tools to bend up a over-stove hood? It will be nothing fancy, but (this is somewhat painful to admit...) I bought this new-to-me kitchen stove only because this is a double-oven (Maytag Gemini) and the larger of the two is a convection oven (main reason I bought it), however, I did not notice on this stove there are no large burners on the back row...not a problem right? Well it is for me, because with my ginormous toffee making business (ha!) I want the toffee to be directly under a fan or something, since it puts off A LOT of steam, yummy butter/sugar flavored steam, but also steam that would love to stick to everything in the kitchen. On the old stove there was a large burner in the backrow, so the steam went right up into the fan (and our fan is vented outside, so it works perfect).
With this new stove I'm thinking of an add-on vent hood to just hook to the bottom of my over-stove microwave. It would only be on there while making toffee, so it doesn't need to be permanent at all, I just want something ghetto that works to funnel the steam towards the back where the fan's suction is.
So I'm thinking just normal HVAC sheet metal bent in a squareish shape with the lip coming down maybe 2 to 2-1/2" on all sides, not sure if any elevation would be needed to funnel the steam towards the fan opening...
I may try to draw up something...but first off just looking for someone that could bend this up...already looked at Home Depot and didn't find anything that would work off-the-shelf...
Any ideas or anyone that can help me out? I can look for a guy locally, just haven't had the time...I'm willing to pay for it...and/or trade for a substantial amount of toffee...
