What is the best method to fixing this? I've noticed the truck ticking more as I drive it and have traced it down to the y pipe in the V of the Y. I'm debating on if I take it off and weld it or if I go straight to a replacement. I'm assuming the original pipe is going to be pretty thin/weak to weld and will most likely just crack next to the weld in the not too distant future.

If I replace it I'm debating OEM or magna flow. From a comparison the magna flow Y joint looks like a bit better design with the brace and sheet metal stamping, but the OEM one made it plenty long so probably a toss up. Will the magna flow cat last a while or is OEM the way to go?

The Magnaflow might be more rigid than OEM - possibly worse because the vibration will affect it more. Are all your exhaust bushings good? I would inspect engine and transmission mounts too.

What are peoples opinions on the Magnaflow cats and Y pipes? If I were to get OEM where is the best place to buy from. It doesn't look like PartsSouq has them and they are expensive!

Try the Search function, top right, been discussed a lot in the past.

if you can clean the joint out well enough, bead blast cabinet is best but you might be able to get away with a dremel. A good weld on there won't leak for a very long time if you use stainless wire.

Yea I was debating on if I pull it and weld it. I’ve got a tig, but looked too tight to do it in place.

i usually prefer to tig but this is one spot that I always stick weld with a tiny rod.
