They Come

The shims come in different degrees (4 degree 6 degree etc.)

I have 5 inch Alcans and the same extended HFS Barbell shackles and run 6degree shims. Make sure to get and install the taller headed centerbolt as it keeps the shim in position.

any pics of your rig??? still runnin SUA even with 35's???

Thought you'd never ask...

at some point you should get the 18mm greasable pins too

I would get the 2 degree shims and put them in then take it to an alignment shop to get them to check the caster and see if you need to go to the 4 degree shims. The only way to accurately tell is going to be on an alignment machine. My Toyota dealership will do a one time alignment for round $30. I am going to check mine after i get my OME heavy heavy lift installed and get some new 33's

Dave

Trapper your rig is awesome. Love the stance of it. Maybe one day mine will grow up to be like that......

i have the ome heavy with ome shackles ( about 3 3/8 eye to eye) on my bj60 and mine has -1 degree caster not great but not bad. that being said i am going to 5.5 inch shackles to gain and inch in front and am going to go with 6 degree steel shims from dd machine. The reason being is that ive always heard that for every inch of shackle lift you loose 1-1.5 degrees of caster, depending on the length of leaf springs.so i figured that i would loose about 2.5 degrees of caster with the 2 inch longer shackles plus the negative 1 degree that i started out with would put me at -3.5. ive been told that 60's seem to work the best with 2 to 4 degrees positive so thats how i ended up with +6 shims. I hope this helps

Trapper50cal that is a sweet looking rig. lots of props to you for going the route that i havn't seen alot of on here!! I love the way 60's look with 35's. I am definately getting greasable pins soon!

Thanks, but most the credit belongs to the PO, Ige, she put the Alcans on and the hysteer. I just slapped the 35's and the HFS Shackles on along with some new bushings (and some bilsteins)
