More MB-T

The kitchen design I choose!

Looks great! Might copy your rear gate design one ever I get to work on mine.

If I wasn't a new guy I could show you more photos including some detail shots.

Hi Doug fellow HAM, KE6HEH here, trailer is a looker, did you make it to Moab this year for the Safari with the trailer. Nice propane tank assembly looks solid.

Hi, Nice MB-T! Very functional and clean!

I really like the tailgate and lid. Thanks for posting and Welcome :flipoff2:

lols, love it.

fwiw, once you pass the 10 post count you may give us more snaps.

so, answer each question in a separate post, starting with those above.

mine include: why hinge the tailgate opposite the tent?
do you plan to use space forward of tires, and if so, how?
do like the fuel plus generator concept: please explain your thinking in using old-school metal fuse box on exterior of trailer.

hth, look forward to seeing more...

I have yet to visit Moab, and Thanks for the comments

another mb-t (the kitchen area)

I choose to use the camp kitchen I built for my TJ since it fit well and I'm used to it. The build for it is under "TJ camp kitchen" on another web site. In the beginning I used a dual fuel coleman stove, I don't think it liked to be tipped up and down when closing the tailgate because it would always act up in the morning(coffee time).

another mb-t(the kitchen area)

I decided to convert to all propane because I had problems in the morning getting the generator on the Coleman stove to equalize, and that was time for coffee. So a Cook Partner stove was next, time to rework the the tailgate and keep the fold-up idea.

another mb-t(more kitchen)

It's working out good so far, I had propane appliances left from my motorhome days so I didn't have to start from scratch snd I had two propane tanks installed while building the trailer.

How do you like the Partner Stove compared to the Coleman? Think its worth the extra $$$. I am trying to decide if I am going to buy one or stick it out with the coleman.

Truth being, I think there a bit over priced. I had a Coleman propane before this which worked great and I gave it to the folks who bought my motorhome. The dual fuel model Coleman which I installed in my trailer had a little startup problem in the morning so choose to replace it.

The Partner stove had the exact measurements as the Coleman, when it got down to making it fit, it didn't, so I had to have it all reworked. I also don't care for the higher BTU models, I use propane at home everyday and it burns much hotter than natural gas.

That's my two cents worth, hope it helps, good luck.

Very nice quality build! Could you snap a few pix of how you extended your tongue? I'm trying to find a way to do mine on an M416...there are many ways to do it, just trying to figure out the best one...

Cheers!!

The tongue has not been extended, the whole hitch assembly has been switched to the bottom side of the frame. I'll see if I can take a few shots with the camera today.

MB-T tongue set-up

Here are a few shots of the tongue, it's the stock spring lunette with a 2" receiver assembly welded on it so it will take a ball hitch for the street or the pentle hook for off road use. Then I mounted it on the bottom side of the frame for the proper height for my vehicle.
