After seeing JonHarris' writeup on his new ARB custom drawer system a few weeks back, I decided those had to be next on my list. BUT, have also had my eye on a rear bumper from BIOR. Since the cost is roughly similar for the two mods, one had to go.

Unless I built one myself. So, decided to start on the drawer system this weekend. Spent all morning Saturday reading practically every drawer thread on MUD..80s and 100s. I've leveraged design points so far from half a dozen different builds.

So far I'm in it about $130 (wood, drawer slides, bolts/screws), and have yet to buy paddle latches or carpet.

I'm going to use the paddle latches that several others on the forum have used, and I'm leaning toward covering the unit in the heavy duty material that good custom shops put on speaker boxes.

So far, I'm pleased with the results. Frame is 3/4" cabinet grade plywood, drawers are cabinet-grade poplar.

I'll update the thread as progress is made, I'm expecting about 2 weeks or so until complete.

Below is the basic frame, which I'll u-bolt to the 3rd row seat latches. Don't pay attention to the strip of ply across the top front, that's just there to hold square for the time being.

Reserved for top / wings / front face additions.

Rough fit on top/wings/face. Still have to cut out drawer holes, add drawer fronts. Will attach better pics when at home with camera.

We'll see how they turn out first! The hard part is yet to come.

The drawers are 28" long, 9" deep, 20" wide.

The storage compartments behind are 10" long, 9" deep, 20" wide.

Those are looking good, are you going to put hidden hinges on the back end to make use of the space behind the drawers? Ive got to come up with something to hold my C02 setup...

I think instead of hinges I'm going to do the lift out panels on the backs and the sides...gives way more access to the storage.

Mine are similar to yours but I made them separate so when I bring an extra person camping or on trips I can take one side or the other out and the seat will fit in for either side of the 3rd row.

I really liked these drawer pulls for their ability to be adjustable and to be able to draw the door in tight to keep it form vibrating.

Allegis Corporation

Ordered a pair. Way superior to some I already had on order. Thanks!

Looks great! I will be copying your setup in a few months when I get some time to redo everything back there.

Shaggy those look sweet. Which part number did you get? 275021-90?

Yep, that way you do not have to be as exact with your locking slot. They also keep the drawers open on an incline (for my drawer length). Here is a pic of how I have them lock.

The Al keeps the wood from wearing and keeps everything tight. You can also have them mount on the upper part of your drawer if you want but I just think it would get in the way. Here is an example:

And here is how I cover mine and how they currently sit (unfinished).

Hope this helps with any ideas
