another heater question

Later model heater, just got done rebuilding, first time in truck and first time getting 40 running. Is it correct that hot air only come out at your feet and defrost, but not on the vent mode because the shut off flap blocks the air flow to the heater core? Or do I have something put together backwards

Just realized this on mine last week. Preparing for a snow trip I went through my heater choices. And was suprised that vent was only cold air.

You are correct. Only vented air from the blower comes out the top. Thus the 'vent' selection on the lever. It's the only A/C we have.

yea as long as it is below 70 deg.
