2000 usa version 100 series, Drove to work this morning no problem haven't had any signs of anything has been starting great, and driving fine. Went to leave work and just keeps cranking no start. I checked the efi fuse and replaced with new 30 amp no luck tried the jumper trick that Medtro does from the relay to the battery and still crank no start. The security light goes away when I put the key in too. Also checked codes with my cheap OBD fusion reader and no codes. Also tried starting in Neutral and no luck.

I didn't have a chance to really dig into anything else, but I'm not finding much on Crank no starts that are not the immobilizer or had symptoms up to it. My next things I would think it could be is fuel pump or crank position sensor right?

How can I check the fuel pump? Would you suggest trying to use some starter fluid in the intake? If it was the crank position sensor that would throw a code correct?

If it was the fuel pump there would’ve been signs of it right? Tried starting it this morning again and still nothing. Just seems so random to go from totally fine to nothing

you'll have to verify if you are getting fuel and spark. I would try a cheap-o spark tester

Yeah; fuel or spark. I've had fuel pumps die suddenly on other vehicles with no warning sign. Fuel filter is another possibility, though less likely, that's easy to check.

Okay I got it to run just for a second off starting fluid. That means fuel delivery issue correct? Or does it mean that something could just be not allowing the fuel pump to turn on?

Have you listened for the fuel pump running and priming?
Can’t hear the pump running or priming. And I’m getting 12v at the pump connector. Ok I replugged the connector and tried to start and it fired up. I guess maybe connector is going bad or both pump and connector?

Another update. Got it started, it stalled a couple times randomly through about 10 times of testing if would continue to start. Finally decided I would try to drive it home and it drove fine didn't notice any difference. Tried starting again about 20 min after getting home and it's starting but at a low idle then dying.

I had exactly the same issues, I highly suggest replacing the fuel pump, totally worth it especially if it’s never been replaced. While you’re at it replace the fuel filter under the hood as well. They’re all fairly easy to change out and you can definitely do it yourself in short time. I’m currently running 358,000+ miles on my 2002!

In case you are not aware there is a connector on the inside DS frame rail just under the DS rear door. Check and Clean this real good.

Changing the fuel pump is super easy. Several good threads here about it. Like said before go ahead and change the filter in the engine bay while you are doing all this.

Got a delphi pump ordered on rock auto, I’ll get a fuel filter too.

I did notice that connector on the drivers side underneath. Do they sell that connector, I have a feeling it’s going to disintegrate when I try and take it apart. I also thought of just butt splicing all the wires and get rid of the connector all together unless that’s a bad idea.

The last five digits of the part number for all elecrical connector housings is embossd onb teh rear of the housing. The first five digits will be 90980.

The dealer should be able to get it for you, or you can buy it from an online store.

The instructions for replacing a connector housing are in the Wire Harness Repair manual; there is a copy in the 100 series section of the Resources forum.
