Any reason why a booster should not be installed with the vacumme (sp) port at the bottom? Could trash find it's way down and be sucked into the motor?

I picked up a booster from an 86 supra and it fits nice without mods but the port is at the bottom. Is installed on a 71 40

There is one potential issue, if your master leaks, you can potintially suck some of the brake fluid in to the cylinder.

Course, I can't for the life of me think that you could pull enoguh in to make a problem...

Yep a booster does seem kinda tame for hardcore corner. The problem is that the 40 section guys seem to want to discuss stock replacement stuff rather than thinking outside the box. Hanging a Supra booster upside down is a little outside the norm. BTW the mini truck (2wd) booster and MC are the same except for the location of the output ports on the MC. The bias valve on the Supra is mounted on the fender well rather than tucked up under the MC. The romote mount has allowed me to mount the bias valve back on the firewall. The brake lines can than be routed back along the firewall.

My original plan was to run hydro assist from an astro van on the rig but the power steering pump hung a little wide on the 5.0 motor and would interfere with the steering shaft. The other reason for not going that route is that without the benifit of ABS the hydro boost is WAY touchy with close to stock rim and tire combos.

In order to tuck everything up next to the motor I switched to the 86 astro saginaw P/S pump. I had to build a new bracket to get rid of the Ford P/S pump and am happy with how it sits now.

Should have gotten a sag pump off of a ford Van with a 302..

coulda shoulda woulda but finding one was the problem. My motorhome has the sag pump on a 460 so I knew it was possible. Modified the Mustang bracket and made a mounting plate for the sag pump. easy stuff.
