Nice! Further proves the fact that I should RESEARCH something pricey before running out and buying a POS Optima for my Tacoma...
I know I can't get as good a deal as you did (you dog ;) ) but I paid like over $200 for it!

TCD keep your eyes open for the quarterly battery sale at Sears. From my reading they have their batteries usually go on BIG sale once a quarter (prices for the DH Platinums in the $150ish range).

But to agree with J, the first time she fired up you could tell the difference in power that was sent to the engine. She fires hard every time I go and start her.

I looked at the old battery and it was 750 CCA.... the Platinum is much stronger. Can't wait to put those CCAs through new cables too.

Got a few more goodies for Marley today for the dual battery set up.

Painless dual battery controller, military battery terminals, HD adhesive shrink tub, a 300, 250, and 100 amp breaker, terminal covers, battery cable/welding cable for auxiliary battery and crimp terminals.

J

Hmmm, looks like some wiring/ routing/ planning/ wtf?/ crimpers/ are in your future...

J once that carb gets rebuilt your mileage should improve. I've gotten as high as 15.7mpg and I'm running a Weber. That was mostly highway, but OEM should do just as well if not better.

And as for the batteries. Those look nice. I have an extremely old Optima Red Top. If it ever dies I will look into the DH Platinum.

Kline I'd be happy at the lower end with 12mpg if I can get a little more power to boot.

You should get there. And if not inspect some of the other systems. From reading all the rebuilt carb threads by Jim C they were perfect and needed no adjustment. So I'd look to other systems first.

Do you still have the air pipe on the exhaust in circulation? Goes to the smog junk on the DS fender. I had that fail when I was 16. Exhaust right into the engine bay. Cut it off and crimped up the pipe. It ran better after that :hillbilly:

Point being there is a lot of little details that effect running conditions of a 2F. You'll get it :)

Yes, Have everything, I am full emissions equipped Kline. Sounds like Jim C. rebuilds and then puts on an engine to tune before he sends them out. Thus far I am thoroughly impressed with what I have seen.

Damn good eye Dan!! I completely missed that.
Oh if you like stouts you should give the Stone Vertical 12.12.12 Epic a try. One of my favorite beers, but alas it is a limited edition... :crybaby:
