To continue the quick high jack, from my experience running both 35s and 37s on 4.11s since you have that deep of OD I'd try out your 4.56s and maybe switch to 4.11 if you are planning on staying with 35s for an all-rounder. I would not recommend 3.70 with your OD figure and 35s. The fj60 isn't aerodynamic especially lifted and will require more power traveling 70mph so you don't want to go too low on rpms. Too low on rpms and your turbo will have a harder time spooling plus with the added resistance will increase your EGTs limiting you from adding more fuel for more power. Your 4.56s may be a pretty good fit, seems like it when running the gearing calculator with your OD ratio.

I-man, when you get it figured out let me know. I unfortunately am no help with what gears you will need with your set up. I would have to rely on the help from one/several of the gurus from the 4BT/H55 world... HA!

I will be pulling them today and installing the new (new to me) thirds and rear locker..

J

Rear locker, 4.11 third and brake parts installed... Plan to get the front done tomorrow.

Need to order 2 new drum parking brake wires. One is in two and the other won't last much longer.

So's you rebuild brakes at the same time, or just clean them up? They look great!

D, Complete rebuild.. New cylinders, springs, shoes, bell crank arms, bearings, seals and drums.

Brake work took me longer than swapping the thirds and installing the locker....

It's official.. We are moving. The job was offered to me this morning. We will be moving to the Carthage, TX area. Long term opportunity. I have to be there on Oct 3rd. So, as soon as these last small parts come in and get put on.. I'll be done for a little while on Marley.

Anyone in this area of TX? I know the area well.. I had a fabshop in Tyler for a few years in the late 90s.

Are you kidding me J? I was gong to be through your area on the 9th of Oct. bummer that I won't be able to visit. Great that you got a good job. Good luck.

The thirds look like they are in great shape.

Congrats bro!! Sounds like a great opportunity for a great guy. Cheers!

Thanks all..

Finny and I-man.. are you guys gonna be close to me before then? Would like to catch up before I roll.

I-man- did you decide on gearing for yours yet? My old 3.70 thirds are in good shape. I'm probably gonna get a storage locker for alot of my shop/60 stuff and come back later to get as time allows.

Howdy :D

There is a pretty good club in Dallas as I understand. Heard of it through a buddy from Houston who is going to school up there.

There are bound to be guys around up there.

I may get to meet you some day! There are events in Texas that happen at certain times (don't know them all haha)

Nice work on the differentials and brakes!

J- Very happy to see this!! I sent you an email, let me know if you have questions. LSLC is a sister chapter or LSLC-Austin, and they have som good guys up there for sure. And you are close to Barnwell Mountain. Post up in the LSLC chapter and you will get some good local help.

Oh, shipping will go down dramatically :hillbilly:

Congrats on the new job J! Moving sucks!

Ha! Good on the lower shipping.. I'll get to buy more!!! I'll pull Marley down on a trailer and leave at my grandmothers place in Canton,TX until I find a place to live. It's a short drive (100 miles) from Carthage to her place and safe. We will definitely need to meet up somewhere. I'll keep in touch once I get there and settled in.

If ya get close swing thru Bonham, have 150 acres if ya need a place to stash something......
