There was one plastic knob that wasn't broken I used that to line it up then I reused the sheet metal screws with plastic washer that the PO had installed

Hey, are we on vacation here or what ?? Getting lazy ??

Updates !!! He,he.. Still a little something missing on her,no ? :grinpimp:

Yeah Pete, I been a little busy getting my daughter ready for school and stuff. Works been a PITA the past few days.

Plan to do a few things this weekend but, nothing drastic. Hope to get my "MOOSE ON" as well. Need to give Marley a wash.

Want to finish the main interior items... console, tint, wiring, stereo system, etc... Little by little now.

Rig looks great!

Have you had a chance to test the subs at all? I was about ready to get a couple 8s and build sealed enclosures behind a couple mdf panels to replace the side panels but I am curious now to see if it sounds alright in that space. I was going to run a couple 8s and then just put a 12 in the cargo area that I could remove if I needed the space but if 10s work I don't think I would bother with the twelve.

Thank you sir.. Any mods for yours coming up?

Kurtis, I have not hooked up the subs yet.. Hope to have all this done by the end of next week. I should have an easier week and the wife is gone on business for the next 12 days.. So, I'm hoping to get a few things done.

Just remember that every sub and mfg is different on their air space requirements. This particular one is .7 cu ft sealed or 1.4 ported.. I looked at a Pioneer and Kicker shallow mount sub that were as much as 35% more demanding on air requirements. Look at the ones you wanna buy and compare to what you have for area in your box, whether you build one or use the cargo panels.

A few items off the list today. Stereo wired (the PO cut every wire in sight and I had to rewire everything), 12V plugs wired in cargo area, Maglite clips/flashlight mounted and console installed.

I ordered my newest mod from KR yesterday... Will be a great add-on. He's so easy to work with. If you guys haven't tried his products... You don't know what your missing.

My wife will be back in civilization and a Target so she has the task of getting another roll of that carpet for the drawer system if it's available.

Hope to finish all electrical wiring this next week, wire the amp/subs, start tinting windows, and applying stickers....

Also, want to run the valves on the old 2F too.

Got my tweeters installed on the upper A pillar.. Sounds great.. Got my shifter knobs on with the proper locknut and thread adapter now. Just so everyone knows if they don't already its 12mm x 1.25 pitch.

Also, got the Cobra 75 WX ST installed. Still need to tune it in but, I'll do that when I have a little more time to try and get it below the 3:1 ratio... Hopefully 1:1 but we'll see..

Lookin'N GOOD !!

Where o' where did that console come from ? NICE !!
I want one..

Thanks Pete, the console is a Smitybilt. Got it off ebay.. Open box item for 48.50, it was missing some hardware but, had extra bolts and nuts laying around in the shop.

Amazon has them with free shipping for under 100.00 bucks. I really like the quality. It's not a Tuffy but, for the price... I can live with it.

So...
I'm dropping my 92 off at your house next week...it's going to take me about 2days to get there so what time next Sunday is good for you?
I'll take bumpers, Sliders, some interior "tweaks" and some paint work with a side of "you get to drive me to the nearest international airport so I can get home.

See you on the 2nd!

Thanks

Nick, if this was closer to December, I'd say come on and lets talk. I usually take a couple months off between work projects then. Usually find a couple fab projects to fill my time.

I'd like to play with a 80 series. I got a few ideas , wish my wife would give in on that idea, I'd have hers "tweaked" in a heartbeat. Maybe I should go get my own HUH!!:grinpimp:

Haha. Gas alone would make me cringe in defeat...haha. I have two 80s now...

Marley is looking amazing! I'd defiantly leave my vehicles in your "care" for a while.

Ok dude, you are making us all look bad now. How did you mount the tweeters up there on the A-pillar? Since more than likely whatever rig I grab is going to need a new stereo (to my standards) I figure I will add some new speakers and the tweeter placement is tits!

At this point, it might be easier to ask what you aren't doing to Marley.

You're like Land Cruiser heaven. Some poor Land Cruiser has given up on living and then it gets sold to you. Now, it's loving life again.

He's the "cruiser whisperer" or the Dr Doolittle of cruisers...mixed with a Mother Theresa-esque saint that loves to wheel and restore...

Shoupe, I'd treat it like it was mine ;)...

G, another reason I have loved RF speakers and accessories for over 20 years.. I can't say enough good things about them.. Anyhow, I have the lower end RF speakers... they are crystal clear and cranked all the way up---- no distortion.

Here's the nutshell tweeter pulled apart for your viewing pleasure. Ran the wire down the headliner stripping.

I-Man, you guys sure give me a lot of compliments.. I truely appreciate them. I love working on and creating something. I have nearly 3600 pictures of this restore and probably a few more to go...:D.

My next chore will be the SuperFlow onboard air compressor.

DSCN3246.webp

Then I will run the valves on Marley's heart and see if I can get her a little more power. Lots of miles and compression is pretty low across the board. Just tired, I'm pretty sure. If not my machinist buddy in Rock Springs will order me a master rebuild and do all the machining.. bore block, head job, shave head, turn crank, check and shave exhaust/intake well you get the picture for 1250.00.. Yes that's with the rebuild kit. He owes me a few favors...:grinpimp: Then I'll get a 4spd and transfer rebuild from Kurt.. (maybe upgrade gears and air lockers too while I'm at it...) When it's all said and done, I should easily get another 150k miles out of her.

Does that answer more of your question on what else I'll be doing? HEE HEE!

I say I want a 4BT, NV4500 (and I DO!) but, I want Marley to stay original on the powertrain for some reason.

I think I'll do the 4/6BT NV4500 etc.. on a PIG when I run across one.

A 6BT in a Pig would be a pretty awesome swap.
You have to start a thread if you ever decide to do that swap.

Yeah, need to do my due diligence on research.. Parts are not an issue around here. It's a Dodge graveyard through Wyoming with all the oil and gas work for cheap.

One of my buddies wants me to do a Duramax/Allison set up for something... They don't care what, just want to see it done.

Gotta love the PEANUT GALLERY!!

Here's a good 6BT in a PIG link: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309331&highlight=cummins
