New 4x4 labs bumper to match the bumper on my 60 project that I have not worked on in a while. Figured I’d quick weld this up, quick project. Welp I knew the quarter panels were bad, but these were really bad, I should have taken a photo of the before. I did my best to keep the to oem shape, but knowing the bumper will cover I didn’t do much on the finish. 3m seam sealer over the weld and raptor liner over that. Lots of paint and cavity wax in the inside. Enjoy the photos of the month long rust repair. I also cleaned, wire wheeled, rust primed and re seam sealed the whole underside of back of the truck similar to what I did on the 60. Rust never sleeps Minnesota!

After all this I decided to see if I could deal with the massive exhaust leak on the collector?(not sure what to call it) I was surprisingly able to remove the exhaust manifold bolts with no issues. Since mine has been messed with and welded before I just cut it off at the bend with a saws all, When I pulled it, well it looks like it’s was someone’s first day at the exhaust shop and just went to town. I did the best I could and filled all the holes. Someday someone will wonder what the heck. Not sure how long it will last but wow it’s way quiet now! Also the alternative is hard to find and expensive so this will work for now.

Looks good from my house. :p

I have to do the same quarter panel repair in the near future. ☹️

Great job. I did a similar repair on mine but had to start just below the marker light. At the time I didn't have a second LC to use as a template so just freehanded everything. The shape on both side are different but close enough. At least I now have solid steel in those areas and not the expandable foam the PO had used and painted over.
My 4x4labs bumper was a godsend to hide all my sins.
