I am looking to tune my 1HD-T, Curious if it is hard to get the android pin back in once removed. I have read that you need to remove the cruise control portion on the pump, but my truck does not have cruise control.

Lots more info around on tuning, but that's the basics as long as you have some idea what you're doing and the gauges to take readings.
 
Thx, ya I watched those videos. I was wondering if I'll have to grind the bottom of the pin like he does in the video or I you can get it in without grinding.
 
You will need to grind the pin to get it back in without disassembling the pump.
 
There is a small set screw to remove.
With the pin out look down the bore and all will be revealed

can it possibly damage the pin and make it malfunction? i'm considering this but don't have an extra pin if i screw up
 
I think if you tried hard enough, and used a big enough hammer to reinstall the aneroid pin you could probably damage the little pin.:hillbilly:

Grind the pin similar to what's shown in the first video above. If you give the aneroid pin a little twist left/right when it reaches the guide pin, it should push out of the way with no trouble. Both pins are hardened steel, you'd really have to be ham-fisted to do damage.
 
If you grind the aneroid pin, for rear of re-install, or to change the taper, make sure you thoroughly de-burr it and finely grind/sand the surface of the taper.
Any rough grinding on wear surfaces is likely to accelerate wear
 
I guess my new Pin is already designed to slide in.

Just turned the star wheel up 10 clicks and it really helped in lowering my EGT's and smoke
