Cody,

It looks awesome!! I don't know if this will help, but my M101 CDN has 2 places for the lunnette ring to mount on the tongue. If you can mount it on the lowest setting, it would level out your trailer.

Ryan - only 1 hole on the M100 trailers. I think the M416 and M101 have 2 slots.

No lid yet, but I plan on something similar to DesertDude's fabbed up lid. Just a square bar metal frame that will fit around the outside of the trailer "lip" on top, sheet metal skin, and some type of rack that will lift the tent a few inches so I can access the hooks for the tent cover.

hmmm.......optical illusion. it's so clean inside i thought there was a black lid on top. that makes me feel a little better about the speed of my buildup. although i'm still a slacker in comparison. keep it up; it gives me motivation.

Now I just need to find the 2 LX450 rims to match the truck....

Cody,

That's where I am torn right now!!! Do I put rims on the trailer to match the 40, or the 80?????

Decisions ...Decisions!!!!!!

Put a set of 80 rims on the 40...or vice versa...and the decision becomes easy.

I actually mounted and bolted up the wheel/tire combo to determine the exact spacer size I will need.

The plan as of the last few days was to look into cutting the fender down the center and add in sheet metal to make it wide enough to cover the big tires.

The current fender arch won't work with the new tire diameter, so it looks like I'll have to have a fab shop custom make a set. The local trailer shop said its beyond what they can order or build.

My 5 year old daughter really makes the tires/trailer look HUGE...lol

Looks like 2" spacers will cover it instead of 3".

The stock 80 bottle jack is fully extended, and won't even reach the axle anymore.

Remove your receiver hitch on the truck and bolt the pintle hitch directly to the bumper. That would level it. Unless you need the other hitch. The bumper should be able to handle 3500 #

I have my pintle directly on the bumper of my 80. With my m101 cnd, it reaches up ever so slightly. When I get my 32 inch tires on it will be level.

Does the LX450 have those 4 bolt holes on the bumper behind the plastic?

I see you pulled up the other thread.... I like my bumper mounted pintle. Unfortunately I could not get it to fit with the receiver, it bumps into it. So the receiver came off.

My only trailer is the M101, so I didn't care. It is considered(bumper) to be a 3500 # attachment. A military trailer is only 750 # loaded max 2000 #.

Cheers, BB

2" spacers inbound today. Still searching for a pair of LX450 rims...

I removed the Valley tow hitch and the LX450 plastic on the rear bumper to access the factory pintle mount holes.

I mounted the pintle directly to the bumper and gained a few inches of hitch height, and a few more inches of clearance with the tow hitch removed.

Measurement from the ground up...
IMG_0543.jpg

I went to bolt up my 2" spacers today and found out that the included studs/nuts were 14 x 1.5, and I need 12 x 1.5.

After a run to Checker, AutoZone, and Napa - I managed to pick up 12 correct studs and nuts. (why they each only stock like 3-4..I'll never know.)

I fixed that issue and bolted them up - perfect clearance and not too far out:

Guess he will never have to worry about rolling the trailer with all that weight;)

have you thought about running electric brakes with those size tired on your rig and trailer id imagine it would be like a freight train on the loose to stop let alone off road

I really haven't had any issues with brakes after the big wheels were installed.

I replaced the front and rear pads after I changed the wheels, so I'm sure I'll go through pads quicker - but thats really to be expected since I didn't upgrade to larger brakes.

I was figuring the extra weight would help out to keep the trailer from going belly up...as will the 4" of wheel spacers and extra few inches of tire adding to the overall width.
