an incident !!!!

i had the truck on cruise at 70 mph when a little thud/ hesitation occurred. instantly, fuel gauge dropped below 'E'. I pulled over i checked under the hood, opened the gas cap, there was no smell of gas. by the time i got back in, the fuel gauge was normal "half tank" then drove off.

we had rain storm couple nights ago, could it be water was mixed with fuel?

anyone has experienced this?

i replaced the fuel pump couple years ago so i know that's not the issue.

Water would not affect gauge reading. Liquid is liquid. If it was fuel issue ? it may be pump going out. Aftermarket pumps are not as good as oem.

Fuel pump was replaced with Denso ( Same as i took out)

Possible wiring connections at fuel pump?.... Intermittent problems are very tough to diagnose. Sounds by your description that pump may of lost power, then got it back.

Very possible.
Will wait and see if it happens again.

I would take off the gloves' compartment and check for water/corrosion on the engine ECU connectors. Typical for leaking windshield.
Nother option would be the plug of the alternator, or a bad earth somewhere.

PS: It would be more helpful for future use if the thread had a descriptive title.

i don't have leaking windshield

what do u mean by "Bad earth?

That would have to be one hell of a rain storm and bad gas tank to get enough in there to cause the engine to miss. I'd go with something more reasonable - fault in the pump, gauge, or momentary glitch.

Just drive these things heal themselves . I went through huge storm in Denver a few years ago worst storm state had in 20 years and standing water on all the roads and tons of rain and stopped at a friends in Santa Fe New Mexico overnight next day air conditioning quit work stop look at everything got back and I drove it started working again never been a problem cents .
