I have converted my BJ75 over with everything from a late model HZJ78 and when we charged the ac system the shop apparently did not put enough in as it is constantly surging now . Reading online I find that the aussies used about 700 grams in the HDJ78 with single ac while the Europeans used only 500 grams according to my source there. Unfortunately no one around me has any idea how much that is in ounces pounds since this is a liquid gas conversion.

If anyone has recharged the ac system in their 7x with single ac do you mind sharing how much pounds/ounce you charged it with , I hate to overcharge mine and damage the system.

Thanks

Joe

According to the shop manual RM183A4 the recommended amount of R12 is 32 oz.
Converting a system over from R12 to R134a you may have a difficult time coming up with a specified amount to add; you should charge until the receiver sight glass has little to no bubbles observed, the suction pressure maintains a minimum of 32-35 psi and there is at least a 20* drop across the incoming and outgoing air temperature in the cab.

My complete ac system came from a brand new cruiser so it never had R12 in it.

Joe, I had a similar question and asked a buddy that works on AC systems. He referred me to this chart that gives you different pressures based on ambient temperatures.
