Oh Ren , very nice Rig you got their ! Im really glad your sharing this information with us , one thing though , they mention a retuned suspension in the press release . I know its still KDSS but have you noticed a difference in the ride , maybe compared to a '08-'011 ?

I only test drove an 11 and I think the ride quality is the same, BUT a huge difference is on my butt. The new perforated seated are great! Big difference. I test drove the 11 Lexus and almost got that because of the difference in the seats but I just couldn't see myself driving a Lexus (and I didn't like the adjustable suspension with no KDSS). Sound silly but I do have a slight disability and seat comfort is huge for me. Also the ventilated seats are a plus so no more sweaty back.

oh Ren..one more sort of stupid question. From the looks of the multi-terrain control the cruiser is not made for snow or ice country. :)

Just looked through the NCF on the Toyota TIS webpage. The neatest tech thing I see is the "turn assist' function, which unfortunatley only operates with the crawl control on. It brakes/locks the inner rear wheel while traveling at under 6.2 mph.... this of course works the same as a cutting brake in the low tech world.

This ’13 is a very nice ride. I would love to give you more details, but there are so many cool features the best I can do is answer questions.
I don’t know that the rear seats are what you can call easily removed, but it looks like they can be unbolted. They fold up very easily and lock in place. When the third row seats are down and open, there is a pocket behind the seat to stow the center headrest so that you don’t have to always see it in your rear view mirror.
There are a total of four cameras on the ’13. There is of course one in the back and when you put it in reverse, the rear view shows on the monitor. When you are backing up, there are lines that show where you are going and they move with your steering input.
There is one camera in the front grill and one on each side mounted under the side view mirrors (the Lexus only has a passenger side camera). On the monitor you have three choices. A wide front view and passenger side, side views from the B pillar forward and the other is the side views from the B pillar back. In low range, it displays a full screen front view and the other two views are the same. The cameras turn off at about 7 MPH. The front view shows trajectory lines for the inside and outside of the tires and also has distance guidelines at 3.3’ or 1m and at 1.6’ or .5m. The trajectory lines follow the steering inputs to show where your tires are going. The side view displays have lines that show the front of the vehicle, the contact point of the front and rear tires and a parallel line that indicates the side of your vehicle. There is an arc that indicates the path of travel of your rear tire that moves with your steering input and another arc that indicates the tightest turn possible of your rear tire UNLESS the turn assist is on. Turn assist basically locks up the inside rear tire to act as a turning brake. Pretty cool stuff.
There is a whole lot more technical stuff more to it. If you have any questions, please ask, I would be more than happy to answer. We love our new TLC!!!

Hi oh Ren

Does your 13 come with the off road turn assist ? I have a 2011 and was wondering what major changes are there. From a web search it was hi lighted the front spoiler and slight interior changes.

Let me know

Toyota states in the manual to use the Mud and Sand selection for snow covered roads. There is also others cold weather benefits like heated front and second row seats and heated side view mirrors. I live in So Cal so I don't get a lot if chances to use this stuff but it is there for you and when I get a chance to go to the snow.

Oh Ren how about some interior shots, please? Curious to see the new seats and other interior trim changes. Is the fake wood better (more realistic) than in the '11?

This is the back of the low beams.

Looks like Toyota outsourced there ballasts from Matsushita. Interesting. Thanks for the picture!

and FYI: The Atlanta Auto Show was a complete wash. Toyota did not have the 200, neither did Lexus. I do not understand why they do this. Their flagship SUV and they don't even have it at the big Auto Shows. It's like Toyota doesn't even care. They just fill there floor with pickups and hybrids...i guess that's the southeast for you.

i was mad here in philadelphia also they had a 2011 model land cruiser and lexus had a new lx but it was behind velvet ropes. seriously!

Here you can see the five speed crawl control with the turn assist button. Above are the controls for the ventilated or heated seats (the best improvement over the '11 for me). The headlights are another big improvement. The upper left of the picture with the buttons left of the steering wheel shows the headlight adjustment. This adjusts the headlight vertically for when you are towing or have a lot of passengers to keep your wonderful headlights down and out of the eyes of oncoming traffic.
The others; side view mirror adjustments ( which go back to the setting you chose when programed in with your driving position adjustment button and also they point down when in reverse) and a button to fold the side view mirrors in (what, why would you want to get your hand wet when it's raining on the Dusy). Last on the top row is to turn off the intuitive parking assist because it can get annoying when you know the trees you are crawling around are there. Bottom row; headlight washer, Vehicle Stability Control switch off button, steering wheel heater (only heats the leather no the fake wood but really works), RSCA off switch (roll over sensor for curtain shield airbags. If you are really crawling this would keep you from deploying the side curtain airbags when tapping a rock on your slider at an extreme side angle. A good airbag for an accidental high speed rollover.) and lastly the center diff lock/unlock switch.

The fake wood is more realistic or at least shinier.

Here is the tool kit in the rear door and the first aid kit in a side compartment.

120v ac plug for slow roasting stew on a long trip.

Tie downs that can be pulled up through the carpet to tie down the crock pot for slow roasting stew on a long trip.

The cooler box works great. Didn't think I needed on but no that I have it... Great for a cold drink with the stew that we cooked in the tied down crock pot after a long trip.

wow very nice x2 the biggest reason I went to lexus when I got my 2006 was because spending that much money on a vehicle the inside has to be nice; which I thought the difference between the lx and land cruiser at the time was big! This is very nice.

Great shots - thanks a ton Oh Ren.

Thank you so much for posting your reply and congratulations on your new ride. It looks fantastic.

Hope you enjoy it for many, many miles!
