From the looks of the responses, I guess I'll just have to report out how it worked when I'm done.

I'll make sure to provide pictures and any lessons learned.

did you search? I remember a few years ago, someone was doing this and the work involved was extensive to get the skins to look decent.

There was a thread years ago about getting another set of doors and cutting the top off them and using them on the bottoms of the other doors.

or find another set that work for you, have you posted in the wanted section? or checked the for sale section, there was a pair for sale recently.

i bought those and had the body shop that was doing my body work weld them on, it seemed easy enough for them to do and came out looking great. it is an easy fix for a welder/ body shop. they also did my front doors as well.

I've had both rear ambulance doors reskinned. I bought the parts from Real Steel Cruiser Parts in Texas. The end product is going to come down to welding skills, yours or whoever you have doing the job for you.

Anyone have any experience using these?

Door Skins, Rear

Looking to repair some rot on my doors (1980 HJ45 troopy) any
advice would be welcome.

I did mine using my Handler 130 and no problem. Need to cut the old parts off leaving extra material, so you can sneak up on the final contour. VERY IMPORTANT to measure the original length and ensure that after your first few spot welds that you check for square and length.
