....back in the saddle again....
Is there a way to improve alternator output for the one in my HJ60?
It works fine now, but I've just ordered upgraded lights (100/55 w/ Cibie) and will be installing upgraded reverse lights, and also driving lights (its dark here) as well as a 12v booster heater for my SVO setup, and the winch (which doesn't get a lot of use).... then there's the stereo (which does get a lot of use) and eventually I'll probably hook up the CB again....
Anyhow, I'm starting to doubt the sufficiency of my 2H's alternator. But that dang vacuum pump on the back makes it tough to simply swap in another alt.
Has anyone hooked up an Aux. alternator in a 2H? Or rewound the stock one for more power? Is there some other option that I'm missing?
I've already put LEDs in the dash, so that'll save me an amp. ;p
I'm planning LED's for the stock reverse lights and maybe the tail lights, so there are another 2 amps or so.
Anyway, just trying to plan ahead.... and still sorta trying to justify the notion of a hydroboost brake system (since my booster is going south anyway) cus that would open up some options for different alternators (and/or reduce the load on the stock alternator).
And on that point-- there is one single vacuum line besides the booster.... can one install a small (cheap?) electric vacuum pump to run that?
