Alternator Charge Light Filter Lights

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has ever had their charge light come on and both of their filter lights com on at the same time. I has happend a couple of times but only for a few minutes and now it seems permanent. The voltmeter indicates that the alternator is not charging, multimeter also says it's not charging. All connections appear good at the alternator and battery.

Any ideas guys?

I just checked the voltages at the alternator and i have 12v at the two large white wires and on the three wire connector i have 12v at the white/light blue wire.

Your brushes in your alternator have run out sir ..i would pull the back cover of and replace them

i am removing the cover now, i'll be back shortly

I removed the cover and had a look at the brushes they have definitely seen better days, hopefully i can get the holder as well so i won't need to solder. I also noticed that the front bearing had a lot of slop in it so i am trying to remove it now but i can't seem to get the bearing off the shaft/out of the housing, any ideas?

Get a quote from a alternator shop it probably will be fairly cheap and they will give a warranty.
