CCOT is no longer selling their pewter paint kit (Original Pewter Trim & Bumper Paint) and will not be carrying it in the future either. Anyone have any recommendations for a quality alternative that will get close to the original look?

Most paint shops can match colors. Take a part that’s original in and they’ll set you up. Our paint shop can load into spray bombs or small hvlp guns are cheap and easy to use. After using 2 part paint and an hvlp gun, I prefer it to using a can.

This is very close. Also Rust Oleum universal paint & primer Dark Steel is close too

I’ve gone through just about every spray paint I can find locally.
My go to is Duplicolor BGM0528

It is VERY close to original. You can see the stainless color in the background. I didn’t like it. Too gray and flat.

You guys all rock. Just got my first 40 a couple weeks ago and am champing at the bit to get started. Restoring seats is a project I can take on right away, so here goes nothing!

I appreciate all the recommendations!

Thanks again everyone.

Looking through other threads, I've found the following seems to be a consistent recommendation:
  1. If powder coating, Prismatic - Vegas Gold is the best match
  2. For rattle can, JToutfitters is the best match, albeit more expensive than hardware store options. It also is a very close match to the Prismatic - Vegas Gold, if you want to powder coat and have an easy option for touch ups.
I also understand that at some point, the factory color changed a bit.

One thread I found that talks about both options:
Powder Coating Colors

I'll post an update with my findings after doing the seats!
