Alternative to a SXS for a hunting rig - '83 pickup?

Thanks. Yeah, I wonder if that mileage is accurate because the front bench seat upholstery isn't original. Also the fender flares are add ons that could be hiding fender rust. Maybe not, considering the location. Also I'd be concerned that the lift would make it less durable, more prone to axle and steering problems. But perhaps you'd find it a benefit for your applications and wouldn't mind dealing with any potential issues that could arise.
I've gone into a holding pattern on buying a truck right now. I am going to conserve my cash for awhile and just keep my eyes open. I have many projects to take care of and need to prioritize.

Right?! That was me when I came across my '84 with 58,000 miles. No rust and crazy low miles. It had to be bought. I'd figure out what to do with it later.

Someone help me out. I don't own, have never owned, have never driven or ridden in an SXS. But, they're all over the trails (and campgrounds... at 3am) like jet skis on a busy lake. So, there has to be a reason they're popular. I just don't see it.

Didn't these things morph from the old 3-wheeled ATV, then 4-wheeled ATV, then side-by-side? Now they're the size and price of small 4x4 trucks (which already existed!)... except that they're not street legal, so there's a trailer, tow rig...

What am I missing?
You can go down to the dealer a slap down a $500. Deposit and be on the trail tomorrow.
Zero sole, I dont like to use the word hate, but I hate those noisy things

Ya wanna see hate...apparently go to Moab and talk SXS's.
I have my own issue here with illegal off-road unlicensed underaged operations of 2 wheelers/SXS's illegal speeds
reckless endangering manner on public roads. Hate is politically correct word for my opinion

😂🤣 I have attended Cruise Moab the last 6 or 7 years and that's where I formed my opinion. I stopped short of saying this in my last post but I find there drivers to be rude selfish people.
My apologies to the good respectful people that drive them.
