But Rich has gone out of his way to hook me up with the grease...taking the loader to the landfill and going through pallets to find the good grease.%#@& The found a pallete labled "PBOC".%#@& Prudoe Bay Operations Center.%#@& "That's trhe good s***...man they have the money...I looked at one, but knew they only used the good stuff, so I grabbed it"...all 16 five gallon containers.%#@& And damn it is some nice-ass grease!!!!!%#@& 16 containers at 5 gallons each.%#@& That's 80 gallons...on top of the 10 I already filtered.%#@& Now I'll get probably get at least 50 gallons out of it.%#@& So tomorrow I'll filter the rest of the grease and head south then or the next day.%#@& I got lucky on the way up...no flats.%#@& It is a long ass drive to Fairbanks.%#@& Anyway, where to from here?%#@& Not too sure, I just have to be in Las Vegas to meet Songer on the 17th of Sep.%#@& See more of Alaska and Canada.%#@& I most likely will head to Juneau.

It's now several days since I wrote that...the update...
Left The north Slope with arount 50 galllons of FILTERED grease!!!!%#@& It got me all the way to Homer (a long ways) then back up to Anchorage...where I am right now.%#@& On the way out, Rich hooked me up with a belt buckle.%#@& Now I have never worked for or at "Area Ten", but I can wear it with pride because I have a hell of a neat story behind that belt buckle.%#@& I also got a mattress.%#@& That's right...from the Prudoe Bay Hotel.%#@& The trip back down the Dalton Highway didn't seem as long as on the way up.%#@& I got to Denali National Park and stoped at the wilderness center to see what the hiking opportunities were.%#@& It had been raining a while and I wasn't too ready to get in the wet.%#@& PJ gave me a magazine that had%#@&several articles on Alaska, one of them mentioned Denali State Park and rthe ridge trail there.%#@& So off I went to the State Park.%#@& The part I did was 17 miles.%#@& I slept at the trail head so the next AM I could leave for the hike, and I knew I could do 17 miles...especially as late as it gets dark.%#@& It rained all night and I didn't stirr untill 12:00.%#@& That's noon.%#@& It was still raining and cold.%#@& My camper shell leaks and it smells now.%#@& Anyway, I decided I better just suck it up, roll the dice and hope it stops raining and the fog clears so I can see the highest point in North America.%#@& The rain did stop.%#@& It didn't clear up though.%#@& Thick fog/clouds...couldn't see a thing.%#@& I was planning to hike the whole thing in one day but was prepared to overnight there if I had to.%#@& About halfway into the hike my knee started hurting real bad.%#@& An injury I have had for years, but fortunatly rarely raisies it's head...but when it does....puts me out of action.%#@& Anyway, it started clearing a little, still couldn't see anything.%#@& Decided to sleep up there...knee hurt too bad,%#@&I don't think I could have mnade it down.%#@& I figured the clouds may clewar by the next day anyway.%#@& And there wass the 12 hours I knew I'd be laying down...figuring that would be plenty rest for the knee.%#@& All night long I'd poke my head out to see if the clouds had cleared to grant me a glimpse of what I was sure would be spectacular.%#@& Not untill about 5:00 did it clear.%#@& What a view!!!!!%#@& The snow about blinded me, but there it was, McKinley and numerous other HUGE mountians.%#@& I had taken some binoculars...well worth it.%#@& That trail is the best kept secret.%#@& It get a descent amount of use, but is by no means and "interstate".%#@& Even the night sky was spectacular.%#@& Anyway, the spot I slept had 170 degrees of unimiginable skyline from the National Park and surounding area.%#@& I was a little glad my knee was hurting...I may have pushed on just to finish the trail.%#@& Damn good thing I didn't.%#@& When I did get down I hitch hiked 15 miles back to my truck.%#@& The first car that came by gave me a ride.%#@& This fella does a lot of mountaneering in the area and said by far that is THE tral for views.%#@& And I can't see where another trail would top it.%#@& The whole thing is above tree line (only a few houndred feet or something, it is not very high).%#@& So the whole trail has views of the mt. range, including McKinley at 20,320 feet.%#@& Got back to the truck and cooked a big ass meal...all I had taken to eat was trail mix.%#@& Ate, left for the Kenai penensula.%#@& Wasn't too sure how far I'd go, but ended up going all the way to Homer.%#@& Extremely scenic drive.%#@& Glaciers, ocean, mountians.%#@& Anyway, made it to Homer...looked for grease, and around in general...not too muck luck on the grease.%#@& Did break down and buy a meal...Halibut.%#@& Had to on principle.%#@& Wanted to%#@&hike the Russian River trail, but figured I'd better let the knee get better first.%#@&%#@&I have been lucky here in Anchorage, I got 60 gallons and I figure I better let it warm up (it's getting hot in the camper shell...it's finally sunny)%#@& Then tomorrow AM I'll filter it and be on my way.%#@&

The spelling on this last section is bad I know.%#@& I messed up the computer and the spellchecker is 10-7 and I don't have a dictionary on hand.%#@& Oh well, I am sure you all will get the gist of the stories.

What do you mean marshall? You talkin about all the symbols in this thing. I copied it from my email and I aint to sure why they are there. Heck I posted this partly cause I saw you were askin about propane. Instead of that 3fe you could pop in a diesel and run it on free cookin oil.

That would be trouble. My car would smell like buffalo wings. I'm already overweight I couldn't imagine how much I would eat if my cruiser always smelled like buffalo wing.

Haha...you should see this beast. Once he gets back to SC I'm gonna get him to try and come to one of our UC meetings. You'd be impressed. So mad fabrication goin on with that thing. I mean it's one thing to drive from here to Alaska but to do it on cooking oil is another. And if I remember correctly there actually isn't much of a smell that comes from the exhaust. A diesel in a 40 would be cool as s***.

I bought my rig so i could run biofuels. i considered running WVO (waste veg oil) in my rig but decided to go the biodiesel route. I did not want to sacrifice space for duel tanks and it just did not seem practicale for me as a DD. I am in the process of starting up an undergrad Biodiesel reaserch project at Clemson. Hopefully we will be making it as soon as this fall, or by spring at the latest.

Hey Gehn, how big is your trailer? Also what is your number?
