Dad got diagnosed with cancer, mom with heart issues this month so the schedule has been a bit nuts. I was pissed the Dr. goofed up my dad's scheduling at the last minute, but on the upside we got to go ahead with plans for a road trip we'd been planning for months.
I finally got to show my husband & some good friends the Alpine Loop. My friend John is pretty easy going & likes it all, like me, but his wife "B" hates 4x4ing but loves the outdoors & camping; my husband loves 4x4ing but hates camping and the mountains (beach boy). So, I figured letting them run the Bronco's on the Alpine Loop with Stella as "basecamp" (kitchen set up & the RTT) would be a good way to change some hearts. Of course, nothing technical, but scenic and some good side jaunts to wheel, hike, and explore. And, it worked! Todd and B are both looking forward to another trip. Here's some pics. There's a large bear below the waterfall.
