Congrats on your dream rig. I know that a concern you had was over paying, but a few bucks extra to own an LV is worth it. I know that I over paid for my FJ45, but now I have my dream rig too.

Now you really are going to confuse the locals on the WTF is that factor.

"Dang, that there is one of them Jeep Limerzines. Must be one of them rap stars 'r sumpthin"

now i just got a get it from there to here. only 1800 miles. wish i had time to drive it.

looks like it's the same color as mine, but yours is in better shapr. nice score, congrats!!!!!

i bet you can't wait to get it home.

yeah, i can't wait. i've got the shippers lined up and they're supposed to have it on monday or tuesday, but that doesn't mean it will be leaving then. it has to wait for a truck coming my way. das is the company and they guarantee it to be here within two weeks of them getting the truck; which sounds very reasonable to me. it's gonna cost $1000 from l.a. to memphis. that's 1850 miles. i've gotten a few quotes cheaper, but das has a better reputation. will post some pics when it gets here.

orange45, the pictures make it look better than it actually is. this is no cream puff, but something i can definitely work with. it has a damaged top panel and a few good rust spots on the body. it does have some a/c, which will be nice over here in the mississippi delta.

sounds great. i guess mine's in about the same shape then. lots of fun to drive, that's for sure!!!:)

just to get you a little more excited. this pic was taken the day after i took delivery of mine. it looks a little worse in person also.

Actually question was directed towards Missboy but I'm glad to hear your reason.

i like the combination of the top coming off and being able to haul lots of people and lots of stuff. my 40 is so rough riding, i figured the longer wheelbase would help a little. and, in the long run, i figured i would like having a troopy to take my kids and their friends to the hunting camp and stuff. just looking into the future, i guess. no kids yet, but one on the way.

orange45, that does look alot like my rig.

thanks, orange45,

it looks like your rig is pretty stock. i'm gonna sell my 40 to fund this project, so it will be going offroad since it will be my only toy. i'm thinking about just swapping my axles out and putting the stock ones under my 40 and keeping the springover, lockers, highsteer, longfield and orion combo for the troopy. i will swap the full floater for an older axle and put it away for when i want to go back to stock.

it's still up in the air, but what do you guys think about my plans?

sounds good to me. but of course as always it all depends on what type of wheeling and other usage the rig will see.
having wheeled a sprung over 45LV for years i'd highly recommend front and rear sway bars for street usage. also, some sort of traction bar to keep the rear spring wrap down would be a big plus, along with some disc brakes all the way around. these rigs are a little heavier than a 40.

i'm still undecided weather i'm gonna go soa or 4" spring lift. but i have time on my side.
