SILVER Star
Hello all. I've been lurking for about 2 months now trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can before posting my first thread. So rest assured I'm not going to ask which is the best lift and how big a tire I can fit under said lift.
I bought my 80 from a suit in NYC who couldn't even tell me what that funny switch was to the left of the steering wheel. He said he hadn't even put it in 4lo since he had owned. Fortunately he did keep extensive maintenance records for the last 60k miles. The truck now has 100k miles and I bought it for $9k. Given the condition of the paint and the relatively low miles I thought it was a really good deal. My first mod was to remove the damage expanders from the front bumper and rear tail lights.
This will be a third vehicle for my wife and me used primarily when we go on trips with the dog and obviously off-road adventures. I think the rear sliding windows for the dog is what sold my wife on letting me get it.
Thanks to everyone this board for all the free info and especially to wildyoats as his truck is what inspired me to jump in with two feet.
Here's a couple pics for everyone. I've noticed that people like to show off their rigs flexing so in turn I've done the same ;p.
Regards,
Patrick
