My suggestion would be a 5.7 motor and drive train out of the tundra. The entire swap is possible for less then you would think. pm for details as I would be interested in the conversion( I come with refrences) depending on your location and time frame.

As far as the rear with that drive train I would center the rear axle by either the mini/cruiser hybrid or the axle out of the tundra It depends on the width of the axle as I have not had the chance to measure the wms to wms of the tundra axle.

I should be able to get a entire tundra from the local insurance wright off auction locally for a fairly affordable price.

A Hemi would be a cool swap. but since friend has gotten a 4runner with the 4.6 in it and i have gotten to drive the truck a few times, that would be a cool swap also. I am thinking 2F-E for mine as the swap is easier, but would love to do a Toyota V8 conversion also.

Dshock,

A very common conversion here in Australia is the 1uz-fe, this is a 4litre alloy v8, the pre cursor to the 4.7 etc. A near indestructible engine, good part availability and cheap to buy in half cut form from a Soarer or SC400. Food for thought....

I was reading a forum from Australia on the 1uz-fe engine. What is the HP rating?

What manual transmissions can be mated with it? Could I use my current H55f?

Thanks,
Dan

You want to check out the forum that effjay60 posted above for details about swapping the 1uz. I haven't looked at it recently but my memory is that it is the place for data on that engine and other toyota/lexis engine swaps.
