I'm sure they'll setup fine, it's the long term breaking in process that I'm interested in. Looking forward to your report. I assume price point is the reason why you went this route?

looks like it's Yukon for the rear then? If so those were the ones that had noise problems.

I've heard that as well. My Precision Gear 4.88s have been perfect and silent. They now have over 10k on them, without issues.

They are easy to obtain, and I tend to place allot of faith in Japanese manufactured products, my Precisions went kaboom... price not as important.

I'm considering having the roots shot peened to increased durability further.

I started another thread in hardcore about hi pinion gears...4.88's vs 5.29's. On the other board there's lotsa anecdotal stories of 5.29's breaking and the consensus seems to be to run 4.88's. 5.29's would prob. be a better ratio to run in my rig (3.0 V-6 with 5 spd, 35's). Any thoughts? I've heard of people sending them to Bobby Long...not sure if he completely redo's the heat treating + cryo or if it's just cryo treating...

Sorry for the partial hijack....

What are your plans for the rear?

I assume these OE Japanese model will fit with no alterations to the front 3rd?

And what ratio are you planning on upgrading to?

Always good stuff from ya. I (we) appreciate all of your R & D.
