this is a candidate, but i'd like to know if this is a definite repaint or if Lexus ever offered a solid black LX. the only one's that i've seen are Black w/ Gray trim...

BTW: if we decide to get it, anybody want to swap the chrome wheels for some 18" silver ones? :D i'll even throw in the gold emblems for free!

It sure looks sharp in all black. I'd take it to a body shop. They can tell in about 5 secs if it is OEM or not. Also they can probably tell if any collision damage work has been done as that would've been a good time for a repaint. It wouldn't surprise me if it was just the cladding and bumpers that was painted black.

To follow up on this question, does anyone know if black center caps were ever offered by Lexus? I have powder coated my wheels black (attached is a photo showing black vs. OEM), and may want to go with black center caps too. But having those professionally done costs just as much as the wheel--I'd rather buy new black caps if they are available.

looks like the cladding was painted to monochrome it instead of the 2-tone look. lexus has not offered a solid black lx. i would still have body shop look at the rest of the truck, as well as pulling carfax.

lexus has never offered black center caps, theyre plastic - paint em

thanks.

i'm deciding between it (a 2000 w/ 51k listed at $23,900, known paint work and unknown carfax) or a 2001 Cruiser w/ 65k for $22k and no paint work and a clean carfax. i'm leaning to the Cruiser. a year newer, less bling (no gold emblems or chrome wheels to have to immediately swap out - YUK), but even w/ the cruiser, i'll eventually have the trim painted to all-black and opt for some OEM 18" wheels. i think it would be nice to have some of the LX features like AHC, but i guess that i can do w/o in the long run knowing that what i get is unmolested - at least before i get my hands on it. :grinpimp:

That is numero uno!!!

The Bumpers/Cladding is painted black, the car itself is stock.

- post is 2-months old.

i bought a 00 cruiser w/ 62k and records.

actually saw an all-black in houston the other day. i had considered doing mine, but once i saw that one... it just didn't look as good as i thought it would... very... navigator-ish...

All black LX only looks nice; with rims and billet griil.
