2002 Land Cruiser 4.7. On Monday on my wife’s way to work the dash lit up with ABS, TRAC, VSC TRAC, VSC OFF, and Brake lights. Never mind the check engine light that’s a separate issue that I actually found when trying to trouble shoot the other lights. Anyway had her turn around and come home and take another car. While I was messing around with it taking voltage readings looking for loose connections and whatnot the lights just cleared and shut off. (Car was running at the time). After shutting it off. I tried to jumper the pins in the DLC1 port e1 and tc as I heard you could pull codes this way, but this just seemed to make a couple lights fast blink constantly not in a Morse code manner like I would expect. This was after the lights had cleared themselves so not sure if they would be stored or not I couldn’t find a good explanation on performing this test.
I unplugged all the wires on the traction control/abs module by the brake pedal under the dash and sprayed them out with contact cleaner. Everything looked clean and shiny though. Car has been fine since then until this morning (Thursday) when the dash lit back up. Seems to drive normally.

Should I just assume the module is bad and look for one on eBay or what else should I be checking and how would I check it?

What, did you find was the: "separate issue"?

ABS shuts down (ABS and TRAC VSC OFF, lights), with almost any braking and or non brake DTC (code) is detected. When the DTC cleared, by clearing codes and or repairing fault. ABS comes back on, dash warnings lights go out.

I see in picture, the CEL (check engine light) return.

Best and easiest; Is to read codes, with a OBDII reader. Parts store will do this for free. Or you can buy a OBDII reader, for as little as $20, with bluetooth hook-up to smart phone.

Seems to drive normally.

If this is, an actual ABS issue. It is not likely, the ABS CPU (module) that is at fault. It is more likely, a brake fluid pressure issue (brake booster motor). Again, "if" even a brake issue.

If brake issue, this thread may help understand what the cause.

This picture was from Monday, CEL has not come back. Was a P0440 code and it had been tripped for a while. I found a hose fallen off in the evap system and reconnected while I was poking around under the hood. My obd2 reader gave me no other codes or faults but I do not believe it can read ABS or Toyota specific stuff it’s just an Innova 5310 basic reader.

Post pictures of hose you connected?

Also post picture of brake reservoir and the wires inside boot at bottom of ABS unit (black box on side of brake master wire attach to)

Check booster motor run time!

I looked through the sub menus the other day and did not find ABS but you are correct it was there. Unfortunately lights off by the time the car was back home and reader shows no stored DTC for ABS system.
This picture shows disconnected hose. Vehicle has been driven 116 miles so far without CEL coming back on. This may have not been the cause of the P0440 but so far no light

Here is the reservoir. I performed the motor test and it ran 31 seconds. It did sound like it stopped and restarted somewhere around maybe 16 seconds?

Lastly here is the wires at the bottom which aren’t easy to get pictures of
