blower resistor is probably dead

Bad relay in the drivers kick panel. Its the same as the efi relay

This is the bottom relay at DS kick panel. Is this what needs replacing to get A/C switches blowing at correcet speeds?

Thanks

no thats not it. the main heater relay is the black plastic square one. but that has nothing to do with blower speeds. if it didnt blow at all, maybe it would be the main heater relay. but if you get any speeds, its most likely one of the parts behind the glove box

You will need to replace your AC amplifier located on the drivers side. Its a white box, located under the dash near where your right knee will sit. Its an expensive box. I would use Car-part or find someone parting out an LX450 @mel lowe This are only specific to Lx450 and 40th anniversary 80's with the Auto climate control button on the AC selector.

i would test the blower first before spending upwards of $450

But here is a pic of my possibly faulty a/c auto system amp

Ok. Thanks.

What I do know is the first three fan buttons create the third highest fan speed with the fourth button going a little higher. When I press the auto button the fan speed goes to whatever speed is needed based on temp setting..... like it normally would do.

yeah that sounds more and more like a fried blower resistor. meter it with the above FSM pic

So clarifying. Your fan control buttons work when you're running heat, but they stop working when you switch to A/C?
If that's the case it's almost definitely not the resistor, most likely the A/C Amplifier. I would test the Amp first.

No. The A/C works. The heat works

The only issue is....first three buttons run fan at third speed level with fourth button running at high speed like it should be

I have the glove box door off. Can anyone steer me to the resistor. I can't seem to recognize it.

Thanks

a 4 pin connector plugs directly into it. i think it is screwed into the right side of the cooling unit aka the big black box

This is what I'm looking at and can't find a 4 pin connector. I apologize for being a stinkin idiot.

This is the contraption on the side of the big black box. It looks similar to the FSM pic above.....but this thing is called the A/C Amplifier and it does not have a 4 pin connector. Could the LX resistor be a bit different from the LC resistor due to auto climate control? Thinking hard here.

sorry this is from the LX450 FSM but i think the connector is that that black one plugged into the white one with foam on the outside on the right side of the pic you posted
