The first few times this has happend i thought i just pressed the panic button by accident, but now i'm wondering if its a symptom of a dying remote battery or F'd up alarm...

I press the top button on the remote to unlock/lock and able/disable the alarm. The problem is sometimes when i press the top button the alarm will start going off. When i hit the top button again to shut that ish off it wont shut off for a minute or two. erRRR! after pressing it rapid fire and praying this damn alarm shuts off -- it finally does.

So is that a sign of the remote battery dying or something wrong with the alarm? i only have one remote so i cant swap. the remote is kinda beat up, and i do have to get a new one soon, but any ideas as to whats up or anyone have similar issues?

Put a new CR 2025 3V. battery in it and use an old tooth brush to clean around the edges of the button on the outside.

It seems a lot of lint and crud tend to build up there. It kind of sounds like the button is staying depressed (like you would do for panic mode.)

Clean up any dirty contact surfaces inside with a Q-Tip lightly wetted with iso. alcohol.

Other than that I have no suggestions.
