Hey guys I recently bought my first lx470. It’s a 2000 with just over 200k miles. Just recently have I started having some electrical issues.

The alarm will randomly go off at times and
will do it over and over again until I undo the battery terminals for a few minutes. It’ll be fine for 4-5 days then it’ll start going off again randomly.

There has been a few times when I try to lock the doors with the fob and it makes that open door constant chirp even when all the doors are completely closed.

I have also noticed that sometimes when running the AC I have to physically hit the off button on the AC controls before I turn the vehicle off or the fan will constantly run when the vehicle is off. It did it one time for over 3 hours before I realized what was going on.

I checked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood and they are all perfectly fine. My only thought is maybe a relay? Has anyone had this problem before?

I am having a similar issue. Alarm goes off randomly when doors are locked. Leaving doors unlocked works to keep the alarm from going off for the short term. Did you ever find a fix for your problem?

I just started having this issue. Literally just happened to me. Did you ever sort it out?

Out of curiosity i searched the land cruiser fuse box diagram and there is a 20A fuse that is in the under hood box that does the following: (fuse 14)

(ECU-B1) Power door lock control system, power windows, rear window wiper and washer, illuminated entry system, wireless remote control system, power rear view mirror, gauges and meters, air conditioning system, automatic light control system, theft deterrent system

The ECU B1 they are referring to is probably the body ECU that sits above the radio.

I don't know if this helps you but it might be a good starting point.

Is this mostly happening after it rains? If so, it could be due to a roof rack leak that allows for the fuse box behind the driver side kick panel to get wet, which will cause the alarm to go off randomly.

Check all your lock actuators, they get old and dont fully go all the way to the lock position, triggering the alarm

Not in my case. It hasn’t rained in over a week around me.

This must be my problem. The driver door doesn’t lock when it’s hot out. I have to manually lock it with my finger.

I am gonna check the fuse box like others recommended just in case. I should probably check for chewed wires too since my truck sits quite a lot.
