Howdy all!

Went to a junkyard today bc someone locally gave me a lead on 2 40s there. One had all sorts of spare parts in it, which I pillaged thru. :D

Ran across a pair of Aisin locking hubs in one of them. They're alot shorter than the Warns, but mechanically seem to work. One was missing the spine sleeve, so I didn't pick them up. Are these off a mini or 4runner? Are they better than the Warns?

Gotta rebuild my warns and if these are better might try to find a working pair elsewhere.

Yo Han

IIRC, these will not work on your truck, '78, because your stock birfields are too long. They are desirable hubs though. If you install a mini truck birfield like a longfield, smurf, etc., these hubs will work and are stronger than the warn hubs.

Thanks fj... that's too bad. Makes sense tho, they looked alot shorter than the warns.

Any other options besides Warns?

from a junkyard, none....76-78 is an odd size lockout. Warn, Superwinch, and others all make aftermarket, but nothing "stock" is out there.

Kewl, thanks woody, good to know
