hi all,

i want to put a vacuum advance distributor on my pig. to do that i need a carburetor with a ported vacuum. my current aisin carb doesn't have ported vacuum so i am left to purchase a new carb.

i'm looking around at different stuff, and i wonder what people think about some of the other options out there. BTB products sells a weber carb ( BTB Products - Detail ) and their page says:
For improved performance and reliability the 2-barrel Weber 32/36 progressive kit was designed for maximum fuel enconomy and is recommended for the F and 2F engines.
what do you all think about non-aisin carbs. i've been through the FAQ, but it just has adjustment tips. i know this is potentially a heated subject, so let's try to stay objective here. if you think "OEM Carbs are the best" - i'd like to know why, not "just cause toyota put them there." :)

thanks all.

Bryan,

Try searching "aisin vs weber carbs"....there lies the buku amount of information and the debate that continues to rage between the carb options. Also search "carb options".....Hope you find what you need. GL, Dave

You CAN have your current carb drilled & ported...many reputable carb 'builders will do that for you.

@landcrusher - yeah, i looked through that, like i said, it's all tech info for tuning weber and such. i'm going to search on the other stuff to read about what people have to say.

ok, i think i'm going to take my stock aisin over to mark and have him port it.

interesting info on here about the aisin vs. other carbs. looks like things are stacked pretty in favor of the stock aisin carb.

It always depends on who you ask and what your running. Honestly I have been running a weber for over 20 years on my 40 without a problem , everything else I own is stock also without any problems Good Luck
