Has anyone mounted an air tank in this area under the body to the left of the front Driveshaft? I took some measurements of the area and it looks like the 2 gallon Viair tank should fit fine mounted upside down to the body. Anyone see why this would be a bad idea?

If it fits, go for it. I havent seen anyone do that. Once you get a swing out you can mount as many as you want in the old spare area lol

My brother makes pressurized water systems (he may still). I have one if he doesnt :P

I think it would work as long as its protected.

Also, Im really looking into a water tank for mine near the spare tire, 15-20 gallons of fresh water would be awesome!

Adventure Driven's GX has a water tank in the stock spare location - I'm not sure if there are any pics floating around, though.

I plan on using the Frontrunner 13 gallon tank that goes behind the rear seat. It fills up a space that I needed to fill in in order to make a sleeping platform.

I think I'm going to go ahead an plan on mounting the 2 gallon Viair tank in the area near the front driveshaft. Seems like a no brainer for my planned setup.

where do you plan to mount the compressor. My Jeep has a 2 gal tank and compressor mounted in a similar place Air Werkz Bolt-On JK (4-Door) Air System

That looks pretty slick and there should be more than enough room for that kit.

I have not even thought about where I was going to mount the compressor yet.

Did you ever do this? I have the ARB twin compressor mounted under the hood between the air box and the firewall, and I need a good place for a tank.

No, will be a while. saving up for suspension and wheels right now.

David found this old thread - have you done this?

I am contemplating the Viair compressor and tank and have a very strong preference for keeping the parts out of the cabin. under the car / in side panel would be ok due to my strong preference for space premium inside.
