At first I thought I could do without it. As I hadn't seen many people that had ever used them. Most people just use a cutoff wheel on a grinder or air grinder. But I bought one anyway.

Boy was I wrong. It cuts sheetmetal like butter and it's very exact unlike a saw zaw. I can cut anything from bolts, angle iron to any variety of sheetmetal. The blade is very flexible which make getting into tight spots very easy.

Marshall...

Those saws are worth every penny.

I have, as have many other people, used the hell out of mine.

I used one of these tools to cut the fenders out on my 80. Worked like a charm. It was almost TOO easy...

Picked mine up from the local tractor supply for ~$70, with a 2 year warranty.

I thought a cut-off wheel would go quickly thorugh sheet metal, and I was WRONG. I use my air saw (IR) for any sheetmetal cutting I can.

Only problem is you have to clamp/hold the part well, otherwise it just vibrates with the saw and it won't cut (particularly when doing small sheetmetal parts).

For bigger things I use a Sawzall-type saw (mine's a DeWalt) and that cuts metal MUCH faster than a cut off wheel also.

is this better than the nibbler for cutting metal? Or is the nibbler strictly for sheet metal whereas this unit is good for most metal?

I've never used one but am looking at it and thinking hmmm... seems like it would present ALOT less fire hazard than the spark show that the grinder/abrasive wheel alternatives provide.....can you cut hockey sticks with it?

Poser it looks like those take jig saw blades is that right or would I have to buy new blades through snapon etc?
