Air pump fitting into tool compartment in a rear door?

Are you talking about the space on the passenger side rear, where the bottle jack is stored?

The pump itself is really better installed underhood. Two reasons: it's a heavy current draw device and best near the battery. They also can get really hot, to the point that many would feel uncomfortable with it under interior plastics, where it also won't cool as well.

I'd recommend you save the storage spaces in the interior for the inflator and hoses. Fits nicely where the jack is.

I am not talking about pump for off-roading. Just regular pump if I get a flat or something. I am talking those small ones which powered by 12V outlets.

Storage space in rear lower hitch on driver side.

Gotcha, the compartment in the tailgate?

That's a pretty flat space. I haven't measure, but perhaps 2.5" tall? Perhaps start there by measuring the space?
