Air Injection Rail removal

I finally had a few minutes to work on the cruiser and got stumped by the stupid air rail. Searching the forum for removal tips seemed to all focus on difficulty removing the threaded part. Fortunately mine came out super easily, but I can't seem to pull the air rail out. It seems like it's getting stuck.

Is there a trick to getting them out? I feel like it shouldn't be this hard.

just have to work it around, the tips are carboned up.

What @brian said. The carbon can get very hard, but it's brittle and not as hard as steel.

It might be good to take the lower bungs off the air rail, and then work each one individually out of the head.


Especially if you’re trying to save the parts.

I was able to spend some time on the cruiser this weekend and got the air rail removed. Taking off the lower bungs did the trick for me. Thanks again!
