Air Induction Pump & Bypass Failures, is this a concern?

I'd like to get some feedback on the issue of: 06/07 Air Induction Pump Failure & Bypass (AI)

I'm looking to buy an 06 or 07. But concerned I could get into expensive parts like with this AI issue.
