Ok so we have a 120v 2400W outlet in the rear storage area. That should in theory be able to power a pretty decent air compressor. The only issue is that all the air compressors I see for cars are either:

1. Battery powered, which is not ideal since those can die and I just want something reliable I can throw in one of the small rear storage areas.

2. Alligator clips to connect to the battery, This could work but it just seems like an extra step with the 12v outlet right there. Maybe I could do some self wiring on one.... what could go wrong?

3. 12v low power designed for a cigarette lighter. These just don't provide enough power and we don't even have an adapter that fits.

Anyone got any suggestions?

The vast majority of small 12V air compressors are quite cheap and not really something I'd want to rely on other than for very occasional use. The 12V cigarette lighter ones will fill a tire super sloooooow (as you have indicated). If you want a faster one, you either need to use the alligator clips off the battery or hard-mount it via a properly protected high-amperage circuit (often involving 10 ga wire or thicker).

Since you do have a 120V outlet, you could get a 120V inflator instead of a 12V inflator. It looks there are lots of 120V inflator options in the $40-80 range. Otherwise, I'd either recommend a good cordless compressor (like a Milwaukee M18 inflator) or, if you are wheeling a lot, going to a hard-wired ARB single or twin compressor (which will require modifying the rig).

The M18 is the most versatile and easy to grab and use for other tasks at home. It should also inflate all 4 tires.

There are a few options in this thread:

I have since seen someone who used the emergency jack location to mount a compressor. Seems like a good option. As far as I know, the CA Tuned option is the only kit out right now that's designed for the 250 and permanently installs built-in air. I have been told that Slee may have one soon, too.
