ok i have a loose whatever somwhere under my hood that makes my rig run like crap SOME of the time... ran perfect last 3 start ups than bam ran like crap agian... so i did the fonzy thing and hit the air cleaner bolts (ya know the ones with the wing nuts) with the end of a hammer and the idle shot up to what it was suppose to be (choke out) so i could push the choke back in. last time i hit the coil and it worked, no go this time so i went tapping around with the hammer...and the hit the air cleaner bolts.. NOW is there somthing under that would stick? i dont know of any wires under there? would it be a stuck valve?? that would become unstuck when i would slam the hood? only this stuff does not work all the time ( the fonzy approach)

So is there somthing under there ... any idea would be cool...

thanks agian...

Any chance the carb throttle linkages are gummed up? I'll also second the fuel cut solenoid. If its not that, it could be a partially gunked up passage in the carb. Check everything else, then get the carb rebuilt. Do you have a vacuum gauge? They're cheap and can really point to the source of a problem.
